The following are links to organizations that take your card creations for their volunteer services.
Update January 2016 – links removed as they were dead and no longer taking cards.
Contact your local Red Cross to see if cards are collected then distributed.
If you know someone in the service, you can also send them a batch so they can distribute them to a buddy.
A local church in your area may have connections to ship cards also, so ask around.
NO GLITTER is allowed.
Operation Write Home closed at the end of 2015. The tutorials remain on the site for reference.
This is a good way to recycle some of your cards that you have sitting around from swaps or created by you.
Cards of hope, inspiration, and cheery hellos (no get well soons) are accepted.
The following take cards with envelopes to give to soldiers to send back home to family and friends.
Generic cards are most appreciated: Thinking of You, Hello, general sentiment/quotes as they can be used for any ocassion.
There is a shortage of Get Well and Sympathy cards.
Other general cards: Birthday or Holiday specific (mail in early for them to mail out).
Card interiors can have phrases but can be blank so a note by the soldier can be written.
